Oh, I remember (cuz as you can see, I'm a SENIOR member).

The principle was that you could find the rough bearing of various (known location) radio transmitters by turning the aerial until you got the best reception. Then, plotting 2 or more lines on a paper chart, determine your aprroximate location at the intersection of those vector lines. That is, you get a REALLY, REALLY ROUGH approximation of what you can read directly off the cheapest gps available.

Now, probably if you could package it with a Sony Betamax, an 8 track tape player, a slide rule, a loran C, a PC junior, a black and white TV and a typewriter (needing repairs), you might start the bidding at maybe $3 and then wait patiently for a call.

Best use is probably to wrap it up in gift wrap and give it to an older fishing buddy as a prank over the hill gift. Sorry but who knows if there isn't somebody out there with a use for it.

You forgot to add a paper sonar graph recorder to your package. Gave my RDF to a electronic teacher for the old befor GPS stories.
