I just purchased my 2008 license last week. The Calif. Second Rod stamp costs $ 12.10. There is just one stamp period. A drop in the bucket as far as I'm concerned.

I bought that stupid stamp (along with the rest of my fishing buddies) after the guys at the tackle shop told me that everything north of highway "37" was "good 2 go" as well as east of the Carquinez bridge. Then find out that was not so. Dang it...
Can't believe a fisherman... when will I learn? ha

I think prohibiting of 2 rods is just plain stupid.... - dont we already have a take limit? - Who cares if I use 50 rods... I can only take a certain amount of fish home anyways.

Dumb rule.

Some days I could have 50 rods out and still not get a fish ;D

Does't any one ever look at a map? Best map book available is Thomas Bros Maps of Calif the are carried in all of California Fire Engines and can be found in Costco or Barnes and Nobles. With that said anything west of the Carquinez Bridge as you go over the water on Hwy 80 north is one pole only. The one pole only is effectinve in San Pablo Bay. and San Fransico Bay. You need to be north of Crockett and east of the Carquinez Bridge to use two poles, Also, this is in effect as i type this, Kent

How about two poles on a public pier in these two pole stamp waters? Will the non-stamp people need no stamp?

I heard that you don't need a license to fish from piers........True???.........Also, in Hawaii, there isn't a rod limit........I saw one guy on the beach with 9 surf rods in the water........Crazy
