View Full Version : Bodega Monday 8/16

Went out with a friend today at Bodega. Launched at 6:45 AM, lines in the water by 7:15 off Bodega Head. We trolled bait there and over to Tomales Point at various depths for nothing, and then moved north and closer to shore near the pinnacles/estero. Between 11:30 and Noon, I managed to catch two 10-pounders on a watermelon apex behind a silver dodger at 35 1-foot pulls using a 2-pound weight. We heard or saw several more salmon caught, but fishing seemed generally spotty. Jellyfish and eelgrass presented some problems; just had to check our lines often to remove the debris.

Those days in the jelly's can be long one's but if you don't keep the lines clean you won't be catching. Nice job putting fish in the boat, doesn't sound like it has gone wfo like it did down in Monterey early in the season, which I was lucky enough to fish.
