Got back from eagle heres some pics.. ALot of nice fish but a 2 fish limit and DFG has posted signs all over the lake asking to keep the first 2 trout you catch because of the low water and high water temps they say all released fish die :undecided: so it seemed like a long trip to get there and have to stop fishing after an hour...

So i got my first two both days pretty quick.. good ol worm under the bobber.. seems ELT cant resist.. had a lot of time to do some exploring of the area.. water is low but the fish dont care.. might be hard to launch at the south end pretty soon.. :bananachaga:

south end ramp as of 9-12-10, still a few inches of water to slip through:bananachaga::

Nice pics. We just got back froma a week at eagle, we where their for labor day weekend.
There was a great bbq and raffle at spaulding rv for project Eagle Lake trout,a pancake breaKfast at spaulding vol fire dept. Had a great time met lots of great people and of course caught plenty of the ELT(smallest overall size in 20 years) great fun.

I guess the bright side of the story is you got your two fish...i.e. isn't Eagle at times tough to catch 2? Never fished there but heard it can be hit or miss. Can you fish from shore there?

Ive never had a problem catching 2 in the 6 or 7 times ive fished there. This last trip I had my 2 in less than an hour.. For some reason i could see a fair amount of people out there were having problems getting a fish or two.. Not much shore fishing spots, but there are some decent areas in the south area of the lake...

I'm heading ther Oct. 1st for a week. My freinds who lives there drew the X4 deer tag so I'll be helping them but I'm also bringing the boat. NOTE: PLEASE be careful while on the water. Even IF you feel you know the lake well and ALL it's hidden surprises, the lake is as low as it's ever been or at least lower than it has been for many many years. I'm not taking any chances while I'm there until I KNOW for myself the problem areas. BOAT WITH EXTEAME CAUTION!!!! I saw a few boats last year slam into the rocks off of Pelican and the results and damage were not good!! I know 1 older boat was a total.

+1. Mark is right, just got back from Eagle and there are lots of rocks just below the surface in spots, most of them are in areas with lots of bouys like Pelican point. We saw some boats hauling before sunup looking for the lighted bouys and cutting it close. There are a lot of regulars and guide boats on the water so if you go before first light slow it down and go in line with the other boats.Fishing is good so be careful out there and enjoy that great lake.
