Fished Jackson Meadows Saturday in the nice weather -- and Sunday in the rainstorm. Thank God for the full canvas on the Fish Sniffer Willie Boat! Saturday we caught about 20 small planter rainbows from 11 to 13 inches -- plus one good holdover of 18 inches and 2 1/2 pounds. The big one had 4 big crawdads in his belly. We caught them from the surface down to 30 feet on the downrigger. The best lure was a red/black/white Excel spoon. Also caught them on red/chrome Cripplures, rainbow colored Triple Teasers, and on rainbow pattern #7 Rapalas.
Sunday was the same, in spite of the weather. It rained cat and dogs for awhile, but the fish were still biting.
Lake was in good shape, low but no problem launching a 20 foot boat. Water temp was 60 degrees. Most folks we talked to had similar results. Fun trip!
