First thing i have to tell everyone. I'm going to try to fish as much as i can. I Lost my Job of 18 1/2 years. Guess this economy is hitting everything!!! I guess i have paid into Unemployment for years, now i can use it. Sure not the same as my job... Now about my fishing trip...

Met Aaron (Windmeel) at the North Shore gate at 6:30. Launched and headed towards the Narrows. Fish on at 7. Let Aaron bring them in, cause he had to leave at 9. Little further into the Narrows, Aaron up again. All caught on Orange Grubs. Had a few other grabs that didn't stick. So at 9am, i take Aaron back to Dock. So, Back into the Narrows with the Grubs. Not even a sniff. So around 11:30 i decided to put out the old Trusty Rapala's. So after talking to "Hookum" he was inside of South Shore Mouth and was hooking up. So i made my way over there. Couple of fish here. So i wanted to try out Big Hat. Trolled over there. Just as i get about 200' away, Bam!!! Brown Trout gets slammed. Peeled off about 30' of line and comes unbutton. Then just as i put it back out. Don't even get back into my seat, Bam again. This time another little guy. Stayed in the main Lake for a while. Then trolled back to dock. Covered a lot of water for just 8 fish. The Lake was a mirror calm as i have ever seen it... Here's the good stuff...

Lures Morning: Grubs
Colors: Orange - Pearl white
Lures Afternoon: Rapala's
Colors: Hot Steel - Brown Trout
Depth: Surface
Set Backs: 150' to 200'
Scents: Shad - Krill Gel
Areas: You name it!!!

Here are some Photo's of the Day... This time i remembered to take a few of Aaron's fish, that were released. All fish were released today...

I also talked to "Fishingpolesready" Dale!! He was out, test driving his newly wired electric trolling motor. I think he caught a couple of trout. I also think he got one of those "Green Carp". Dale, your welcome for some info. Hope everything is working great on the trolling motor. You will need that for the kokes this year. Don't know when the next time i will be on the water. So until my next report, I'll be here, fishing through my friends... http://www.imhooked.com/forumsyabb/Templates/Forum/default/wink.gif http://www.imhooked.com/forumsyabb/Templates/Forum/default/wink.gif http://www.imhooked.com/forumsyabb/Templates/Forum/default/smiley.gif

Nice report! Glad you toughed it out for a few fish.

Sorry about your unemploy, I happen to be there too. Never thought I would be in this situation.

Did you see any shore fishing action as you trolled around? I am going there Friday (tomorrow) with my dad and I think we are hitting south shore (not the pond). I wish I had some boat money so I can troll grubs and rapalas like you guys  Any chance someone could tell me what grubs you use? Or better yet a pic maybe.

Cheers and hope to see some fellow sniffers on the banks and lake!

Robbie.
So sorry to hear about the job loss.
I consider myself lucky to still have mine and know that the fish gods will smile on you.
Camanche seems to be getting tougher to get the fish.I will probly hit Camanche a few more times this year then try Pardee.
Don't get bummed out, keep the lines in the water.

sorry about your job, and yeah fishin was a little rough,
was out at camanche on wednesday and it was hard day fishin. launched out of north shore and just started trolling out of the bouys. came around the first corner and fish on. it fought really good, brought it in and it was a fatty small mouth. we guestimated caught that on a trolled fire tiger rapala.
closer to the island my buddy landed two trout between 10am and 11am. one on the fire tiger and another on a grub.
missed around 10 all day. tried all different color grubs, but orange and fire tiger had the most hits.
tried the narrows after 130, called it a day at 3.
tried my new fish finder, nothing fancy, but thought i would have marked a lot more fish than i did. the majority of the marked fish were on the bottom. not sure if it was accurate though.

buckman78: You won't mark a lot of Trout right now. Cause they are on the surface. Most marks down are going to be Bass. But, i have heard of some guys catching trout down to 20'. When it get flat mirror calm, try downrigging between 4' to 15'. If you have planer boards, get them a ways from the boat. That will help too... Good Luck on your next adventure!!!

Thank you KM! Nice of you to go to the trouble. I shore fished Camanche today for 3 fish each for my dad and I. Pretty tough and slow out there.

Best fishing wishes to ya, oh, and employment options too! :) I need that wish myself. haha

Thanks for the Comanche post. I will be going there the Pres-Day weekend for 2 full days of fishing. Got plenty of grubs & plan on using them.
Sorry about the job loss, but kill some time fishing between job-hunting. You can only look for a job 3-5 hrs a day. Fish the rest. I'm a machinist & feel lucky evey week.
Nailed 2 Steelys today on the American (both hatchery 4& 6 lbs) kept 1 for the grill... Fish on fellas... SD
