The weather has been incredible but the weather guessers said that this is going to change. Increasing South winds starting this afternoon and snow by mid week. Decided to give ICR one more try before things go to heck. Breakfast at Sharkey's and a 0645 at the lake. Temp in the low 20s with a light breeze from the NE. No one on the lake but one other guy. Knew this would change. ::) Fished the east corner of the dam using green Gulp and 1/4 oz gold Kastmaster. Caught only one fish but again it counted. Around 0730 I was sitting in the truck and my Gulp rod twitches. By the time I can reach it the rod was in the water and the fish gone. :( Decided to throw the Kastmaster at it. On the third cast a heavy strike and 5 minutes later a fat 6 1/4# hook jawed male bow comes to the net. This is my first fish of the year on a Kastmaster. A little after 0900 it started getting crowded. A little after 1000 the south wind started chasing tubers and boaters off the lake. The white caps said it's time to go. Big Bows remain in ICR. Jim, who I often run across on 88, caught a 9# brute on Friday. A wonderful day.

If you'd had shouted out, I would have waved.

That's Kat and I out there in our 12' Gregor. It was so shallow where we launched I left the gas motor in the truck to keep the weight in the boat down. We were trolling into the wind with the electric motor on high and the lines went slack... we were going backwards!

That's when we decided to get off the lake. Also, Kat was getting pretty cold with the wind and spray off the bow.

No bites, but we didn't get to stay out there long.

Hi Desertmoose. Welcome to the Sniffer. It was nice out there when I took the picture. I got to give you guys credit. It's tough to launch at that lake. Only trolled out there once. Got a 25 inch Brown and a 5# Bow. Hope to be able to get up there after the storm.
