Hi I am going fishing at Shadow Cliffs Lake this saturday. I went about a month before and fished the shore, but got not even a bite. That could be due to the fact it was raining?
But I also went two months ago, yet another skunk. Is there a way I should be shorefishing there??? I use berekly powerbait on #6 hooks, with a sliding weight. Please Help!:trout:

Welcome to fishsniffer

but anywayz is the stanley side still closed cause thats the best bet to catch or the first or the last dock and make sure you use atleast use a 3ft leader and garlic scent your baits

Thanks Mojo, The stanley dock is still open. Is the Marina a good spot to try? Because last time I was there I could see numerous 3-4" fingerlings over there.

fish the first dock to the left of the boat launch.. thats your best bet..spring green power bait or white power eggs..

Which would be the best possible way to catch trout from the shore? the more details, the better. Is power bait the right kind of bait to use?

to me the powerbait playdough don't work for me, i just use the power egg and worm combo, or inflate a nightcrawler on a 3ft leader with a sz 8 or 10 mosquito hook and 1/2 oz sliding sinker

Thanks for the info. Has anyone ever tried using Roe from the trout themselves?:goodidea4gq:

I've decided after sunday's skunk, i am going to try one last time. Is it good to fish the day they stock? Will the Fish Bite?

it is good to fish whenever YOU can go....I never rely on a stocking schedule, nor trust them when they say they stocked... I've seen the stocking schedule at Quarry Lakes and I know that it is not accurate...good times are ahead for you, just keep plugging away...
