Hooking up the boat for the first time this year and heading up to Collins this Wednesday with my Son in law. If anyone is heading there, please look us up! I'll have the 14' Westcoaster with a 25 Merc bigfoot motor. The lake has been stocked twice this month with trophy trout and thier just waiting for us. ;D

Let us know how you do.Been Trying to get to Collins myself but the weather and the honeydo list keeps me from it.
I just gotta make the time.I would think with 2 plants the catching should be good.

WEDNESDAY
Launched around 8:45 in calm weather and headed towards the dam. Fish finder found fish stacked from 7' to 90' deep. The fish where nearly at all depths consistantly through out the lake. We did find that the old river bed held the largest quanity of fish at all depths. Bottom line, lots of fish! http://www.imhooked.com/forumsyabb/Templates/Forum/default/grin.gif
The water temp was fairly steady, holding 47 degrees but the waters clairity was stained at best and the lake level was full. http://www.imhooked.com/forumsyabb/Templates/Forum/default/smiley.gif
The wind, when up, never went past 5 MPH--NICE
Boat traffic was light, only about 5 boats on the lake all day. We trolled from 8:45 till 4:00--oh my aching back LOL.
We top lined 140' to 200' out plus used the down rigors at varied depths of 20' down to 60'. Trolling speeds of .6 up to 3.0 were used.
We threw a kitchen sink full of lures, worms, grubs, dodgers, and flashers at them with ONLY TWO trout caught in 5 hours of fishing. http://www.imhooked.com/forumsyabb/Templates/Forum/default/sad.gif
We did have around 5 drive by's though. http://www.imhooked.com/forumsyabb/Templates/Forum/default/sad.gif
While talking to others, two to four fish was the norm for the day.
I did land a beautiful hold over 2 1/2 lb 18" rainbow that filllet out bright red and tasted damn good! On a interesting note, Eric had his pole in the boat with the lure dangling over the side in about 2 inches of water, he was getting ready to change lures when a bass came straight up and hit the lure flinging it into the boat! And the bass? it came clear out of the water, did a 180 and went back into the lake. Both Eric and I looked at eachother in disbelief.
We had the joy and priveledge of meeting John from the forum in his very very nice Crestliner. John, GREAT to meet you and thanks for looking for us. We shall meet again to slay these hogs http://www.imhooked.com/forumsyabb/Templates/Forum/default/grin.gif

I did take pics but need to figure out how to up-load them from the camera.

All & all, it was a sunny, relaxing, fun day with my Son in law and John.

Spoke with a few bankers and it was slow for them as well. It was simply a slow day.:signs20ae:

Hopefully I'll be out at Collins sometime this upcoming week. We ended up fishing Rollins last Wed and did well. I have a 15" Klamath w/ a 25hp suzuki and hope to see some forum members out there next week. Good luck! -Dave
