it was on the bank. got lucky, didnt even know it was on my line until huge pull down. fought it for a good 10 minutes.:)

NIIIIICE!!!! Great catch....I fish Steamboat slough alot N let me tell U that place is unpredictable, lots of big fish in that water

You mean the beach at the Sac River inlet to Steamboat right?

I always knew those fish were in there. You are the only one I have ever seen post up one caught up inside the actual slough though. Good job....I fished that beach for many moons with nada to show, but saw a few rolling and even cruising the shallows. Heard some old timers tell me stories of landing them off of Hogsback beach too. There is a very deep hole at the Sutter/Steamboat split, and I always thought that dinos would hang there especially during heavy runoffs. Sounds like you know that water well too...:tekst-toppie:
