Hi all,
I am looking to buy a battery charger that I can use on my boat to charge my 12v battery for my trolling motor.Or any battery on board. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Or should I get a 24v battery instead? Thanks in advance..

There are several good options for battery chargers/maintainers. I have a Guest 2-bank 10amp, and have no issues with it. It charges my main battery, as well as two trolling motor batteries in series. I just plug in an extension cord whenever the boat is parked, and all is good. Minn Kota has some excellent chargers and maintainers as well. I have heard mixed reviews about the BPS chargers.

Cabela's has mine on sale for $90 right now.

I have a Minn Kota 2 bank for my 24 V system, but I also use a BatteryMinder to charge and maintain-clean my starter batteries. They also make 12 and 24 volt onboard chargers. If I had known ahead of time, I think I would have installed one of those. My batteries are 4 years old and still great.
