My son finally got his first buck on a late season trinity county hunt. We stuffed ourselves with a thanksgiving turkey dinner and headed up for his hunt. We found this buck on the same ridge that he got his elk earlier in the year. After the fog lifted this one walked up about 40 yards to us. I wanted to hold off for a bigger one, but he wanted to take the shot. I can't complain, he is a great shot and filled my freezer full of meat. I just wish I could draw tags like he does.

CONGRATS!!! I agree about drawing those tags!! If he is happy with his buck then you/he did the right thing. As his numbers go up he will start being more selective on the animals he harvests. I know it took me 20 or so bucks before I could pass one and not regret it. His time will come. :) GREAT JOB!!!

Nice Buck! What zone was that in? I still have yet to get my first buck, but I'm in no rush for sure. Being out there is amazing as it is :)
