I'll be fishing at the jetties at Half Moon Bay. What if I throw in a whole decayed chicken before I start. I'm hoping the dead chicken might attract the bait fish and bigger fish. Has anyone tried this kind of thing before?

Honestly - it would probably just attract crabs which, in turn, will probably steal your bait. >:(

It's always worth a shot, though!

That's a good point. So what should I use if I just want to attract the bait fish?

Or you could freeze the dine stew break off chunks and you have slow release chum. Always a good tactic.

OK, here is the thing I'd like to experiment this weekend. In stead of chicken, I'll just try grounded meet. I'll mix them 1:1 with flour and then dry them up around a rock. The flour will keep the meat together before desolved in water and the rock will bring them closer to the bottom. What do you think?

I'm referring to the jetties at Princeton Harbor at the Half Moon Bay. Never caught any fish yet, that's why I'm thinking of ways to attract the fish.

You can try this, buy some pig blood at an asian market, freeze it then throw that frozen hunk out toward where your casting. *That blood trail should attract something.
