Looking for a local trout lake.
As far as I've been able to tell the DFG has neglected to include any lakes in my area (Atascadero) in the planting schedule. I guess there aren't enough fishing licenses bought around here to bribe them.
As far as I can tell the SLO County parks do provide about 1,000 Lbs. of trout a month to both Lopez Lake and Santa Margarita res.
Anyone fish this area that can tip me to what days they plant?
I Know the Army also used to plant trout in the Nicimiento River where it crossed Fort Hunter-Liggett. Don't know if they still do but that's a long way up the lake by boat. I've caught trout out of the river there long ago.
Any additional Info would help.

I grew up in the area, and caught trout at lopez and margarita years ago.

However, if I recall right, they stopped planting lopez and margarita a few years ago. A VERY sad story, if you ask me.
Here is the approved waters, I do not even see lopez or margarita on there!
Pre-Stocking Evaluations - Public Waters (http://nrm.dfg.ca.gov/PSEP/PublicWaters.aspx)

The stocking schedule doesn't show ANYTHING in san luis obispo county.

the current fishing report only mentions trout at Cachuma if you wanted to drive down there:

Unfortunately, where you live is not exactly the best place for trout, mostly due to dumb things that are stopping the stocking.

However, let me know if you end up going out.
