I’m thinking about making a trip down to Chabot. I’m just wondering how the bite has been. Unfortunately I’m still in the wheel chair so I’ll be stuck at the first dock.

Thanks in Advanced,

I know you like it there..but the handicap metal dock at Quarry Lakes
in Fremont is an engineering miracle!..

East Bay Regional Parks district...

it's multi-tiered, ramped, way cool...

and it's right near where they dump the planters!!

If you need help PM me.. I live real close...

My wife took a walk around another lake (not Chabot) this morning and she said the rains have left the water unfishable. She said it was muddy and full of debris. No anglers out this morning. She went back in the afternoon and said there were two anglers but neither were catching. I imagine Chabot is going to be that way as well. I might be wrong but the water might be unfishable for a few days longer, possibly a week?

I've been sick all month and just as I recovered these rains happen, keeping me away from the water. I'm feeling... grrrr.

Fished Chabot yesterday, got there at around 08:30. The ranger at the kiosk said we were the fist fisherman to arrive. Hiked in and got our lines in the water around 08:55. First bite hit after about an hour. It rained off and on throughout the day but didn't seem to affect the bite. Caught one Big largemouth and 6 trout the biggest of which was over 6lbs. Didn't see anyone else fishing all day, guess the rain scared them away..

Well geez Butcha, that gives me new inspiration. Maybe I'll head out there Thursday! Was that over by Indian Cove?

That's the way to get it done. Nice looking fish. Hopefully your luck stays great. 1st time I fished there a 3 pounder and a1 pound fish and 1 lost at shore. Since then maybe 1 bite in 6 tries. Go Shark's!
