Morning chores, Donna and Lindsay off to San Francisco for a girls day-trip. Two Rainbow to over 1#, released, 0 LDRs, 0 SDR, 4 hit no stick. My lucky dog, Spike, joined me for a short, late day of winter fishing for Rainbow Trout. 4 hours (1-5), 18 miles, 6 locations Hat Island (1), Dam, Deer Island, Narrows, Lancha Plana, approaching/at/beyond the bridge (1). We launched at North Shore. We trolled all day at 1.5-1.7 mph, 1 color, 2 colors (2( and on the surface 150-200 back. I got one at two colors on the orange grub with a fluorescent red egg in front, a Rainbow Nugget on the hook and Trophy Trout gel all over the offering and the second on the orange Apex 150 back with a Rainbow Nugget on the trailing hook covered with Trophy Trout gel. No action on trolling flies, orange grub on a Sure Death hook. Water 51.7-53*, very little debris in the water. Air 50-60*. Sky clear. Wind 0 mph. Sunrise 7:13, % moon visible 65%. Birds seen: Western Grebe, Canada Geese, Pied-Bill Grebe, American Coot, Merganser. Thanks for the company Spike.
