I'll be out there tomorrow with the familly. It's really hard this time of the year, but I'm pretty sure there are some perch at the beggining of the warf. Also sometimes the jacksmelt show up and they can be fun to catch. If you see me tomorrow give me a holer. Will be with my 2yo son and g/f. I'm ussually at the end of the warf eating calamari.

Might be to late for you to benefit from today, but check out www.pierfishing.com. They have a lot of info under their resouces page, and you can post your question or do search on their message board.

in the future if you want to eat your catch, I say its
best to go north of town on the reefs and fish for rockies...
a really good spot is red white and blue beach, it a nudie beach
and theres lots of eye candy there... but theres lots of other pts
to fish from and can be seen from the road and walk too...
its un-tapped and un-fished so getting them to bite is not hard...
some places require a short walk to the water but the pay off
is a limit of nice fish, not to mention getting some large fresh mussels...
sorry I caught this one late....next time
