Hey Sniffers! Does anyone know the exact day of the week that Amador stocks their trout? I don't want to be fishing on the day it is stock, as we all know the fish doesn't want to hit on the day they're stocked. Thanks.

They are supposed to plant 1000lbs a day monday-friday...
I think they switched from planting from the bank at the spillway, to using a boat and dropping the fish in the middle of the lake.

For what its worth......The sign at the restaurant / bait shop / check-in place says "we stock everyday!"

Contrary to what other fisherpersons say, within 30 minutes after planting, fishing picks up quite a bit for the bankers, from the dam to the spillway. From early morning it's real slow, then when they plant their fish it picks up significantly. I've fish this lake since November. Just my 2 cent observation.

They did stock 1000lbs a day monday thou friday now it is 800 but if it is
raining or to windy they do a larger plant some time that week so it works
out to 4000lbs each week. So i was tolled by the att. at the store. they are just
planting in the boat from what i seen and they do start biteing about 1 hr. after the plant.
Good luck
CK :)

Every day stocking...I guess it's not the every Tuesday anymore huh. And that stocking off the middle of the lake came to mind last year due to all the snagging from the spillway...if I'm not wrong here. I'll have to get out there sometimes next two week and will report back. Thanks guys!

They were still stocking at the spillway until about Dec. That's about when I saw the "No Fish" signs taken down and a few people had posted on here that they saw them stocking from a boat.

Go fish there and you will know why they plant so much. Big bucks to fish there. IMHO.

Your right AP it was about Dec. i saw i lot of guy's trying to net the druged fish. I think it was Jan. when they
went to 800lbs a day and the fish were the bigger one's 5++lbs so that left less fish going in and a lot less fish
biteing.

I wanted to double check the fees and when I googled Amador this came up......

Not a bad read with this thread:

It's the time to hook kids on fishing | Recordnet.com (http://www.recordnet.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20120222/A_SPORTS/202220306/-1/NEWSMAP)

A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work.

Yeah $17 is a lot to fish but when I go to the casino I can drop a couple hundred in no time and feel pretty crappy but when you hook an Amador trout on light line and jigs it get's your heart pounding. I pay $8 to fish Bon Tempe in Marin and those fish are half pounders so $11 more for fish that are at least 3 pounds and can be much bigger is no big deal.

Amador is a cute little lake to fish. The staff are super friendly and the majority of Fishermen are also welcoming. All and all it's the comfort and hospitality that makes Amador such a great spot.

God I wish it were only $17 to fish. If you take two guys and a boat, you are going to drop $32. If your buddy happens to come in anther car and meet you there, it's closer to $40.

My biggest beef is nobody of late seems to be cataching anything but the numbers keep getting bigger on the trout baord at the entrance. Starting to looklike the old McDonald's signs...Over 9 Billion Trout Swerved!

On he plu side, when the little lake is hot, it is a blast catching 2, 3 and 4lber that fight like crazy. Last good day out there was the beginning of December.
