Just wondering if there was anything hopping at the rockwall in Alameda and the rockwall by Oakland International Airport. When does the sturggies show up there? Any butts there as well?

I was out there in the rain on Tuesday along with 3 other fools not smart enough to realize how cold, windy, and wet it was out there. Didn't see them catching anything. I didn't get any bites at least none that I know of. The waves were a pretty good size so it would have been hard to notice the bites anyway.

I used shrimp and pile worms, but could barely cast out because of the wind.

Quick question: The other guys were a little further out than I and they were fishing the protected side of the wall (the side that faces the shipyard). Do you know what they were targeting along that side?

I was out today trolling for halibut at Rockwall for nothing. I was hoping they might show up early this year but I guess not... ;) I didn't see any bait around Rockwall either.

For near Oakland Airport (near bayfarm ferry station), there are people fishing for sturgeon. I saw one guy catch on 3 weeks ago.

Hi guys.
I live in San Jose and usually fish west side of the bay.
But I thought several times about trying these locations.

I have two questions about walls.
1. How can you get there.
2. Does walls stay all the time above surf and tides?
Thanks for info.

The Alameda Rock Wall is off Encinal St. It's right behind Encinal High school. The easiest way is to come through the Posey (Webster St.) tunnel.

Since most of the rock walls around the bay area are breakwaters, they are all above the high water mark by several feet.

yeah there's no bait, but things are sure getting caught in the old throw nets.
