Have not seen the 2007 salt water regulations but I've heard rockfish season will open this year on May 1st instead of July 1st. *I am wondering what impact, if any, the earlier than usual May 1st opener will have on party boats and the species they will target during the two month window, May 1 thru Jul 1. *This overlaps with halibut, stripers, and salmon, etc. *Any thoughts? *

It opens below pidgeon pt. I believe. And if we have good salmon fishing it won't be much of a factor. If the salmon are not around it will really help out those guys who run the sport boats. I am not sure If those new reserves are in place yet. if they are inplace it will not matter much, because they took away most of the prime areas. :'(
