Has anyone been up fishing caples lately? How about getting up to blue lakes this weekend? Thanks for any input.

I tried the woods creek inlet a week ago with a friend of mine from work and caught a big fat zero. It should be turnin on any time, the ice was 50 percent gone when we were there. We went over to the west carson and I ended up with a nice fat 19in. brown on a night crawler not too far from the 88 bridge. Got quite a few other bites and lost a cutthroat almost the same size as the brown.

Welcome trout chick and nice fish, got me all excited. How did the lake look in terms of ice? Was thinking of bringing the boat, would hate to tow it up there to find a 1/2 frozen lake!

With luck it should open the Friday before Memoral Day weekend. I'll be up on 88 next week. I'll repot.

Howdy, all! I was up there last Monday - the lake is ice free & the public boat ramp is open. Let the games begin!

When I was up last Sunday I saw one boat. They came around by the dam and I asked how they did. The stated they had no bites and no fish.
It was a lovely day there. In the early part of the day it was a bit breezy but still fishable.
I wish I could get up there today but I don't think it is going to happen!
Good luck!

Nothing for me, either. But I didn't stay long or try very hard. Cap'n Compassion's honey hole was calling my name!!
