Dear Sniffers -
I wanted to thank you for the information you gave me on fishing for rainbows at Shasta Lake. I spent two nights at Shasta with 14 Varsity and Venture Boy scouts (ages 14-18) and 4 other adult leaders. On the 29th and 30th we fished for about 4 hours each morning using the exact tackle you recommended - Blue UV wiggle hoochies with medium sling blades, Cop Car Cripplures and Needlefish, and Silver and Blue Kastmasters althought the hot lure on Friday was the Cripplure and on Sat was the blue hoochie. All caught fish between 20 and 45 feet deep off the downriggers. Our final total was 2 chinook salmon, 2 brown trout, 14 rainbows, 8 spotted bass, 1 smallmouth bass and 2 largemouth bass. The largest was an 18 inch brown on the Needlefish that was over 3 lbs. We had a great time and enjoyed fresh fish for dinner on Friday night. Thanks again for all your help.
