8 King Salmon to 18#, 2 LDR, 1 SDR (lost to a sea lion), 10 HNS, three undersized released. Bill Crooks drove us to Bodega Bay to go out with Nick & John from Elk Grove on Dave Hammond’s 24’ North River Sea Hawk. We met Dave at the Sportfishing pier and fished two areas, Arch Rock in 60-80’ water (1) and NW of Fort Ross in 300’ water (7). Dave trolled herring on cable baiters at 3.5 mph. Two offerings on downriggers (5 of 8 at 30’ down) and two offerings on 2.5# balls at 30-35’ down. Little debris in the water. It was my first time trolling for salmon out of Bodega. 50’ set backs on the downriggers. At the dock DFG checked us in while Dave filleted and bagged our fish. Dave is an exceptional, all-inclusive guide. He is a real nice guy who answers his phone, keeps his boat and gear in top shape and patiently worked to get us our limits. Bill & I highly recommend Dave if you are looking for a fishing guide. 8 hours (6-2), 48 miles, two locations. Water 55-78*. Air 60-72*. Sky overcast to clear. Wind 2-5 mph. Sunrise 5:56, % moon visible 5%. Thanks for the company and driving Bill.

GB, great report! I've heard Dave is a great skipper and have seen many of his pics from the last month or so fishing out of Bodega.
