I have been out the last couple weekends. Very few boats. Maybe one for halibut. We have mainly just fishing sharks. Some days up to 20 ,bad day maybe 8. Did land a 8 ft 7 Gill , I guess probably close to 200 lbs. What a Shark.

Hey Greenhornet

What part of the bay do you like to fish for sharks?
and what launch do you use?

I used to fish alot around marshell for rays
and sharks did ok.But now that i have a boat
I found myself exploring alot more of the bay
than fishing.Ive found some good holes and
some really nice coves on the tomals side.
And i have done a little fishing. ::)

Hey Fenceman, Have you been out lately? How long will the sharks bite? If you are fishing in the middle then you are what, 30 ft. Have you ever tried shark for bait or do you just use your regular bait? Good luck, Tight lines and see you on the water.

Have any of you guys ever tried rockfishing in Tomales Bay? I was studying the NOAA charts and noticed that a spot off Pelican Point is supposed to have a rocky bottom. Also, are there any sanddabs in Tomales Bay to catch while crabbing?

There really are no rockfish in Tomales to speak of. A few years ago fishing for halibut we did catch 4 small ones on one drift. Havent caught one since. Your better off going outside and along the point. You could try for halibut or shark fish in the bay.
