    Re: Mix up lures trolling?

I've had success trolling Brad's cut plugs and spinners at the same time. A fairly slow troll. Others may say it doesn't work but...

Keep moving and focus on points or islands you can cast to. Shallow flats are awesome.

    Transom Height

    Another question y'all.

I have been looking at so many boats my head is spinning. I see mostly 20" transom heights and some 25". What are your preferences?

I will do delta and lake fishing with...

    Re: Trinity river

    Hot Damn!
That is cool. I fish the Trinity for steel with a friend of mine but not until much later in the season. I do want to try the salmon in that water.

May I ask what general area? I just...

    Re: Success on the Sac

I use a treble up front where it lays against the lure body and a single hook out the back end. I don't have a lot of experience but all my fish have been hooked with the single hook in the mouth but...

Well that is cool. Sorry none hooked.

May I ask what your method was to get those strikes? Don't have to answer of course. :)
  10. Re: Braid or mono for backtrolling main line

I'm braid right to a swivel then a 4 foot leader of mono. To say I haven't had take downs that didn't stick would be a lie. Ha!:fishing5xd:

    Re: Is 90 hp enough?

Thanks Patrick. Do you happen to know what that measurement is from the front of your helm to the anchor cleat above your foot pedal?
    Thanks,

While I'm at it. Is a 17' Alumaweld Stryker a rough ride? Can't find deadrise info as of yet.

Re: How much power/speed loss at altitude

I know the North River, Hewes, type boats have a flatter hull and move almost 40 mph with a 90hp. How fast were you at low elevation vs high? Just curious if I can gauge the loss. Would like his boat...

How much power/speed loss at altitude

    Sorry for another question.

I was talking to a guy with a deep V style boat with casting deck up front, walk through windshield, etc. It has a 115 hp Merc and a 9.9 kicker on it. 18' long.

Thank for that. I read something similar elsewhere. The only reason I understand what you said is I looked at those shelves and know what you are speaking of.

    Thank you,

Yeah, that cracks me up. I'd buy 10 of them for $10k. Especially rigged up like he has. HDS 12 Gen 3, I-troll, etc.

    2006 Hewescraft Sportsman 1800

I was looking at this boat and have decided to pass since I need bow space for stiper plugging. This is a great deal. I have been watching the market almost daily for over a year including...

Mariner I believe. No offshore bracket. Doesn't say in add but when I talk to the guy I would get all details.

    Is 90 hp enough?

Is 90 hp enough on a 18' North River walk thru windshield. A friend told me 115 as a min. Was told 90 is fine on lighter hull 18' boats like Tracker, Lund, etc. but not so much on the heavier. Also...
