Re: Truckee (River) Area Tips?
I've only ever fished the I-80 side (never SR-89)...there is a decent amount of access off of the Glenshire Road, Hirschdale Road, and there are parking areas at the Floriston offramp and the Farad...

Re: Merced River Yosemite Valley
Came across this pic I shot from the road about 10 years ago. It's a large pool upstream from El Portal on CA-140. How many can you spot?

Merced River (sorry, no pics)
Stayed around El Portal last weekend and only fished for a couple of hours on Saturday evening. Lots of activity just below the surface, and managed one rainbow about 12" on a crippled emerger.

Re: Pre Opener Trout Scout on the Carson (Pictures)
Thanks for scouting CC, I'm taking my parents to South Lake Tahoe on Sunday, and will likely take my dad fishing on Monday. Hopefully the west fork isn't too crowded...dad's 80 and I don't want him...

Re: 10/5-10/7 Truckee River, Caple & West/East Carson
I have a tough time getting more than one anywhere, but especially the Truckee...got this little guy Tuesday morning on a baetis emerger under an indicator. Small, but love the color.

Most of the scenic shots were hazy from the smoke - I did get some other wildlife stuff. I'll try and post some later.

Road Game
This report might not be of much use, given the NorCal/Nevada bent of the trout fishing reports here, but my wife and I recently returned from a week up at Glacier/Waterton and I tried my best to get...

East Carson hatchery fish?
I caught a trout in the East Carson today that had its adipose fin, but had had the top 4-5 rays of its tail clipped off. Any idea of the origins of this fish?

Re: West Carson River / Caples Lake 6/9/2012
Nice report - I hit the 88 bridge today and managed three little cutts ranging from ~7-10" all on a s16 unweighted pheasant tail under an indicator. I probably missed a dozen other strikes because I...
