    Re: Trailer brakes not engaging

Yes Im still using surge brakes. Backing uphill the brakes should have engaged, but didnt. I assume with such a heavy load, the actuator was compressed enough. I disconnected the plug so that the...

    Re: Trailer brakes not engaging

I appreciate the link. I used the breakaway lever and the top screw to bleed the fluid through but Ill go ahead and do it again to make sure theres no air in the system. Thanks

    Re: Garcia Bend 6-09

Thanks for the report. Despite the launch being a zoo, I love that place for jigging salmon. Hopefully I can make a trip out there this year.

    Re: Ocean salmon rod help?

The 7" Ugly stick tiger rods 12-25 is very versatile, under $100. 8' Okuma PCH rods are phenomenal for under $200. Medium action rods are the way to go. Fishing from a downrigger, 9-10ft is optimal....

    Re: Registration Fees

I had a bad experience registering my kayak with a motor back in 2012. They almost charged me almost close to $200 because the sales date of the kayak was a year before I decided to add the motor so...

Re: ocean salmon in a small boat?

I went out often on my 19ft past the gates where its very rough. I always stayed under 10Kts of wind and swell height less than 1/2 the period.

    Re: Weather?

I'll be out there as well, since weather looks promising, in my Robalo 2640. Few weeks ago the fleet was south but now there's no telling where the fleet will be. Goodluck

Re: Charter rock/ling charter weather questions

    The rules I follow are:

    Winds >15kst No go
Swell Height > Half the swell period No go

Wind is more of a determining factor due to the sloppy water it creates. Recent reports say that the...

    Re: Richmond halibut 5/23

We just need some steady temperatures and the wind should calm.
I've been out on with live bait and had good results.
What trolling method has work for you? Frozen/Artificial?
