    Re: Other jointed lures

Depends on what size lure and what cost you are looking at. Spro, savage gear, lucky craft, triton. They all make something in sizes I'd fish for trout with. There are a ton of smaller companies that...

Re: last week on the striper grounds

Haha, don't look in the bass boxes. I own two duo's, soon to be 4, and about 30 lc's! I use what's working :)

Just watching it gets my blood pumping again. Awesome how he got the one hit on video! Can't wait for next year!

Re: Ending my season with a BANG

I'm still trying to decide if the duo hooking a carp in the mouth is a good thing or not, haha. Either way it was a triple threat with a slab crappie to its credit also!

Re: another great day with friends

Haha, ya, I had to pull my little Klamath out of retirement. Hopefully all this rain will go a long ways toward opening the launch ramps again!

Re: another great day with friends

It was a great day. It's nice that they are finally feeding up for winter and looseing the super model look!
  9. Re: Another EPIC day of catching big Stripers

One could point out the only productive thing in your post is that rio vista is not a lake ... :). The answer to where we were is on the sniffer. You will just have to do a little work to find it....
  10. Re: Another EPIC day of catching big Stripers

The duo did its fair share of carp damage to, lol! I think every lure we put out had carp contact though!
  11. Re: Another EPIC day of catching big Stripers

7 fish ... Someone had the great idea of releasing the first one to the lake/fish gods, lol.

    Another Good Morning 11/2

Made another trip to the puddle this morning. Lost 7 degrees of surface temp since last weekend. Being post frontal, wasn't expecting much but you know what they say about a bad days fishing :)....

Re: Trout Tactics- by Cal Kellogg

I have the older version as well. There is a lot of similar or identical content but the new book also has a lot of new chapters and ideas.

Again, I would recommend the book to anyone.

Re: Trout Tactics- by Cal Kellogg

I bought it from cal directly just after the expo. Read it cover to cover numerous times and have mine all marked up with notes and personal experiences. I know it will come eventually, but I haven't...

    Re: A Mostly Perfect Morning

Got them all trolling. I spent about as much time fighting fish as trolling though :D. The fish were stacked from the surface to 15' but all my action was in the top 5' of the water column.

    Re: A Mostly Perfect Morning

I must be a great photographer, or it was the lack of light. Because once the sun comes out it looks like a mostly dry lake bed :)

    A Mostly Perfect Morning

Last night I tell my wife that fish tacos sound good for dinner tomorrow(tonight). One problem, no more fish left in the fridge. Luckily, it's a fun problem to fix.

Get up up this morning and...
  20. Re: LOWRANCE HDS-5 GEN2 Finder/ GPS ( looking for opinions )

I should add that I have the navionics chip, and love it, so I can't really comment on the base map that comes with it.
  21. Re: LOWRANCE HDS-5 GEN2 Finder/ GPS ( looking for opinions )

I've got a 5 on the bow and 8 at the console. They both have performed flawlessly. I fish 2-3x/week most of the year and have never had an issue with them. They are both almost 2 years old. Let me...

    Re: Best trout net?

I really like my ego slider. I've got all three handle sizes and a couple different heads for each. All the nets I have are rubber and super easy on the fish. Sometimes that extra reach has come in...

    Re: Nacimento 6/28 Personal First

Thanks again Donald! I'd love to be using the rig on San Antonio stripers but we need a lot of rain first!

We've hit boils at Naci and caught spots and whites off it at about a 5 to 1 rate. They...
