Re: Suggestions for rigging spawn sacks

I use an egg loop knot. I run the hook through the sack, nice and close to the closure of the sack and close the loop around the excess of the sack/thread. Usually the only way the sack is coming...

    Re: Sunday 8-26 River Reflections

Correct me if iím wrong, but I have always been of the impression that if you donít remove the fish from the water that you should be ok. I believe that when you remove the fish from the water to...

    Re: Which Brand/Model of Waders?

Currently iím running Redington Sonic Pro breathables with Redington Skagit boots. Pretty solid setup that iím really happy with for whatever thatís worth.

    Anybody have recommendations for boot...
  9. Re: Now that leader lengths are at 6 foot, are you going to floss or switch to spinne

I’ve said it for years. Once DFW restricts leader length to a reasonable length, a good portion of flossers are going to either, have to actually learn to fish (ie, read water, move around, adapt,...
  10. Re: Whats the deal with the American steelhead reports???

Thanks! Was pretty stoked off that guy. Nice wild fish, hit my spoon on the swing. Nothing better!
  11. Re: Whats the deal with the American steelhead reports???

I’ve probably been out about 10 times for a total of about 20 hours since January 1st for nada. Last time I landed a Steelie was back in August. Not complaining about my lack of hooking up, just kind...

    Re: AR after the rain

Zip, zilch, zero for me today. Float fished for a few hours. Started with crawlers threaded completely onto the leader with half puffball and a bait button, Fireballs tied in sacks and an assortment...

Re: Starting to question Steelhead season

Agree on all counts. I float fished the Basin this morning for about 2.5 hours. Soft beads, roe, crawlers, spoons, nada. I even down sized to small trout sized hooks and tried drifting single eggs...

Haven’t fished that basin since last season, but i’m going! Gonna bring a 9' Berkeley Air and hit it till I find em’. I’ll probably get bored and go hike down river for some peace and solitude, but...

    Re: 1st of the year..

Well sh**, look at that. Good job. I never seem to have luck in the Watt area. Iíll admit that I go there when I just donít want to trek up river. Itís a pretty quick drive for me and allows me to...

Re: so who did the opener on the AR

Yup, been running a single Siwash for years and WAY less snags and lost lures. I too run 10-12 lb Maxima or CXX and can pull out of snags pretty well.

Saw the furbags at Gristmill earlier this morning tossing around a sucker fish, at least I think it was a sucker fish. No joke, those fíers are big. Definitely the biggest Iíve seen on the AR to date.
