Re: Fish finder wiring: need help!!

I would run a separate set of power wires for your fish finder or terminate it to your fuse block. I know it doesn't seem like you would get any interference if you splice them both back at the...

Re: My thoughts on living in California

In my opinion California is one of the better states to live in. You just need to deal with the politics or ignore them. Nothing you can say or do will change what they are going to do. I'm not in...
  3. Re: Need advice on how to get into the trolling game...

When the money is available get yourself a 4 stroke kicker and some electric down riggers. In the mean time you can troll with lead core line. At least this time of year the lakes will be turning...

    Re: Small stripper

Move up or down stream 100 feet or so to get away from the small ones. Your favorite spot may be have been good before, but it's got the small ones now. In a week or two the bigger fish might be...

Re: Fish Finder question - Bati Balls

The contour lines on the nav chips are 10 or 5 foot increments; depending on how your settings are set. So it doesn't matter if the water is high or low from drought conditions. At least you can...

Re: The Damn Prop Fell Off. PSA

Sorry to hear the bad news. That is a pricey error for a $2 stainless cotter pin that wasn't installed.

At least you can upgrade your prop.

Re: Fish Finder question - Bati Balls

    Bub,

You need a Nav chip to show contour lines of the lake. You might want to consider buying a new depth / fish finder that includes the Navionics + chip already and upgrade to a bigger screen...

Re: Fuel Line and Controls help

You can tape the new one to the old one and pull it through with the help of another. Just tape it up good so the end doesn't catch on any other cables while pulling and pushing.

Re: Fuel Line and Controls help

Congrats on your new boat. Glad you found something you liked.

Be better to replace the throttle cables. The old ones will have a number on the cover to tell you how long they are. I would...
  14. Re: Got the skunk in just 2nd trip. Sac River above Crawdads

Re: Are huge trout good to eat?

Eagle Lake trout is the best in my book. I'll be headed there in October for a week of fishing between Eagle and Almanor. The only trout we don't keep are the browns. Although we get some 7-8lb...

    Re: Trailer brakes not engaging

Are you still using surge brakes? And how do you know the actuator isn’t working? Is it possible you were not going fast enough when stepping on the brakes for the actuator to engage?

    Re: Trolling uphill?

As Wes said; troll upstream keeping the lure in the target zone longer. Also if you troll downstream you need to troll faster to get the action on the lure.
