  1. Re: Discount Tickets for International Sportsman's Expo

Many thanks. I didn't get a reminder this year. Maybe it got placed in the wrong mailbox with the Christmas rush. I'll go the local O'Reilly store.
  2. Discount Tickets for International Sportsman's Expo

I'm going to the ISE show in Sacramento next week. I've always been able to find a $3.00 discount coupon for the entrance fee. Haven't been able to find the coupons this year. Does anyone know where...

    Braided Line Help

I'm going to put braided line on one of my reels this year. I'll be using spinning gear and casting a lot from the shores of lakes. I'll also be casting from my inflatable pontoon, and doing some top...

    Re: G. Loomis Rod Questions

I have no experience with the first two rods you mentioned, but I do have a St. Croix Avid. Mine is a 7' Ultra Light. It is to be used with 2-6 lb. line and can throw a lure weighing up to 3/16 oz....

    Re: Rainbows above the Treeline

Good for you, MKE. I am 72 years old now. My granddaughter used to hike and fish with me in the Eastern Sierras from age 8-16. She is 23 now and a nurse in Salt Lake City. I live in California, so we...
  7. Re: Help Me Choose A Rod for Lake Trout Fishing near Twin Lakes (Bridgeport, CA)

I really like the Phenix Elixir rods...they come in many different lengths. Just got back from the Eastern Sierras. Fished 12 days there. Love the sensitivity and "touch" of the Phenix rods.

Re: Lures that have yet to get wet

Yeah, the T Devils are good lures. I have other "confidence lures" that I generally use first. But I have used the Devils and have had success with them.

I attended the meeting in Sacramento, and learned that if we have any chance at all to stop some of the proposed regulations, the most effective way to do so is to submit comments online. The site to...

I'm going to attend the meeting in Sacramento tomorrow. I want to hear the proposed changes and will speak out, if necessary, on a few issues. Here are a few of my thoughts prior to the meeting:

Re: Tips for pontoon boat fishing?

A couple of different thoughts...I agree with Hooks...nothing wrong with bait fishing from an inflatable boat. I do it. I have aluminum boats and troll from them with a motor. But on my frameless...

I got checked at Fuller this year. I was in my pontoon and they called out to me. They had me hold up my license, then they checked it from the nearby shore with binoculars and gave me the "thumbs...

I have gotten to the point where I always use scent on my lures. I can't prove it, but I think I do a little better using scent than not using it. People who use scents have their favorites; mine is...

    Bowman Lake Road Condition

Does anyone know if it is possible to drive to Bowman Lake? I'm pretty sure that earlier in the year the road was not passable.

    Re: Stocked Trout Question

    Re: Bank Fishing for Trout

If we distinguish native trout from wild trout (born in the waters they inhabit), the answer is yes. They will

I agree with Waterdog. Fish the way you used to fish. Trout will still hit crawlers and salmon eggs. With the floating baits (power eggs versus powerbait...or Zeke's)...it's just personal preference....
