  1. Re: Anyone ever fish for trout in Los Vaqueros near Livermore?

We're renting a boat and trolling. If I get my transducer mount ready, we'll break-in my Striker 4. :bananatiedie:
  2. Anyone ever fish for trout in Los Vaqueros near Livermore?

Want to hit it this weekend. Anyone ever fished for trout up there?
  3. Re: The fishing gods frowned upon me at NTAC San Pablo

Maybe Sunday or Monday. Want to hit SP but also want to hit Los Vaqueros.
  4. Re: The fishing gods frowned upon me at NTAC San Pablo

I'm going again in the middle of the week. No one will be there...
  5. The fishing gods frowned upon me at NTAC San Pablo

I got all the way to Oakland and was waylaid by the gods. Went back home, did what I had to do and hit the road, again. I get there with 40 minutes left in the tournament and parked it in my chair....
  6. Re: 8,000 lbs of Mt. Lassen rainbows planted at San Pablo in prep of NTAC season open

Thanks, man!!! Sadly, I was skunked. Several others I spoke to were as well. I'm going back tomorrow when the tourney is over and I can just fish in peace.
  7. Re: 8,000 lbs of Mt. Lassen rainbows planted at San Pablo in prep of NTAC season open

I will be there, sadly, by myself, because the better half has a previous commitment. I'll have my Daiwa middle-size rig. Some kind of a ballcap. Probably a Daiwa ballcap.
  8. Re: I have a question about getting a hand-held VHF radio.

Damned nice Baja for your avatar. I drove one up Goler Wash on the west side of the park. What kind of powerplant do you have? Gene Berg crank?

OB Radios: I have two Midland GMRS radios which also...
  9. Re: NTAC - Season Opener is coming to San Pablo Dam Saturday, February 8th!

I wanted to hit every event, but I have a badly injured neck and will miss the San Pablo event. It's inoperable so steroids will have to win the day. Probably for the rest of my life.

Re: Are you a Pain in the Neck?

I AM one and I have one. Curved cervical spine and bulging disks. Neurosurgeon said I'm beyond help. :distress:

    Doing my own reel servicing

I've never paid much attention to reel servicing, but my trusty Daiwa 1300C needs it. I have all Daiwa reels, so it makes it easy. I've found LOTS of folk who make parts to keep these old beauties...
  12. Re: Inland Trout Angling Regulation Simplification (New Regs).

I didn't see anything that would affect my fishing. There are a LOT of duplicate lake names in California. Silver lake Mono county, Silver lake Lassen County. It's nuts!

    Re: san francisco

Ya know, if you don't like San Francisco or California, just stay the f-k out. Nobody needs you here. You guys are b*tching about something that doesn't affect you in any way. So shut up. Save your...

Re: First time trolling - spinning reel?

Not even in the same universe. As I said, it's not pleasant. Your guess is funny.

    Re: Anyone doing NTAC 2020?

This is our first year. Boat or bank? Last year's winner was caught on Power Bait from Oak Point. Any suggestions?

Re: First time trolling - spinning reel?

Way bigger than what I use.

I'll use a Daiwa 2600C for salmon, on a seven-foot Daiwa spinning rod. The reel is a vintage model, built like a tank. Smooth as butter AND (this is important to me),...

Re: First time trolling - spinning reel?

Go back and re-read. The other guy said I'm wrong.

I can't tell you what my hashtag means, I can't write it on this board. It's not pleasant. Tell me I'm wrong, especially on something this...

Re: First time trolling - spinning reel?

I'm not a lot of folks. I do things my way, always, unless my own observation demonstrates to me there's a better way. I may ask the advice of others on occasion, but if the advice doesn't square...

    Re: Niners Thread

    Think twice before you go.

I was a newspaper photographer for 30 years and covered SB XXIII in Miami. It's not as great an experience as you might think. Take a TON of money and expect to go home...
