Re: Rio - Collins area.. 9-7-19

That dredge is making the clarity down there kind of unpredictable. Good fishing, glad you're staying on them. I force fed a few the spoon the other morning, was dropping on random individual marks...
  3. Re: Any reports from Klamath, Chetco or Rogue Rivers.

    800 mile SKUNK :)

Did two days on the river. Fished the Glen on morning one, saw two adults landed for several hours of fishing. Had a small steelhead follow a spoon, that was it there. Moved down...
  4. Re: Any reports from Klamath, Chetco or Rogue Rivers.

Thatís the big fear of making the 6 hour drive up. If I get up there and itís closed, legal bank access is pretty non existent, right?
  5. Re: Any reports from Klamath, Chetco or Rogue Rivers.

    When in Rome...

For sure, trying to put a crew together, thanks for advice man.
  6. Re: Any reports from Klamath, Chetco or Rogue Rivers.

Cool, thinking of making a run up there, if I can get some time to do so in the next few days/week. Figure it'll be a good place to test my new Komodo reel and some new H rods. I've read the regs on...
  7. Re: Any reports from Klamath, Chetco or Rogue Rivers.

So for people that have been up here fishing the mouth, what was the drift like? I've watched my share of videos from there and people are flossing, right? If you're drifting with the incoming...

Re: American River - What it Once Was

Why not turn the basin, which is closed forevermore, into a giant gravel area where the fish are free from harassment?

The American is being turned into a dead river. Itís a shame. Even a few...

Re: Anything Caught This Past Weekend?

Jigged Freeport for a few hours, ended up just trolling crankbaits for bass down back to Merrits. Guess a few were hooked early early on the jigging drift.

Re: Towing - 2014 Acura MDX

So Iíve owned a 4 cylinder Tacoma and have towed my share of vessels and trailers. That little Tacoma pulled a 22í and 2300lb boat at safe and legal speeds. Was it ideal? No way. But it did get the...

    Re: Trolling spinners vs kwikfish

Plugs have to be pulled at slower speeds, depending on model and size. You usually hear people saying that plugs are better for colder temps as well.

Re: Mokelumne River from the bank

Yeah, the one big raceway at the moke hatchery has a lot of foliage and downed timber in it, I'm not sure when they fill it with juveniles, but I usually only go over that way in November to walk...

Re: Mokelumne River from the bank

My friend hooked one on a swimbait while striper fishing a few weeks back, he released it quickly boatside, so there already a few around the river. Likely just some lost springers from the Feather...

    Re: Oroville Kings

Hey Wes, what's the color of the fillet on those oroville kings? That looks like a blast. Used to catch Folsom kings with my dad, they'd be throwing up pond smelt when we netted them. Fun stuff.

Re: What lures are you using on the Sac River?

Never done it, but I'm willing to be a real cut plug herring would be money on those fish that are still fresh out of the estuary. Dodger probably helps in the murk that rio can get vs the clearer...

Thought J&P was on Pier 47 in SF? I was doing the olí live bait hunt at 4AM a few weeks back in Berkley. Dudes at the tackle shop near K dock that sold it still have their websites and social media...

    Re: Independence Day Tomales Halibut

Iíve hit Tomales twice this year. First time, it was so slow I left and went up the coast to find some rockfishing off the kayak.

Last week my friend and I went back out, I caught 5 smelt. He...

I appreciate the responses guys. I'll make sure to get into one of the courses soon, looks like Grizzly Island is holding one in the near future. Looking forward to the experience!
  23. Deer Hunting for the First Time this Upcoming Season

Been meaning to get into deer hunting. Grew up in a fishing family, but hunting was never something I was exposed to. I've been doing my share of research on the subject and of course have the 2019...

Almost time to throw some more on the smoke, if they keep letting the river flow that is. Fingers crossed for a better return on the AR this year.
  25. Re: Any good places to fish near Lake County Ca?

Blue lake, if I'm not mistaken, is stocked during certain times of year.
