Re: Carp fishing in South Bay?

Saw some guys walking out of Coyote Creek in Morgan Hill with a bag of big carp. Thinking about trying it since bass fishing here is so torturous.

It would be nice to see both sides of this issue. I have no side as I don't know enough about it, but when I see see the words "California" and "environmentalists" in the same sentence my skeptic hat...

    Re: Registration Fees

In Santa Clara county you have to pay to "launch" an inner tube. Any inner tube, and it needs to be inspected. And if you camp you have to pay it every day. Good ol' Cali :(

    You can't even use an...

    Re: Burglar Found Dead

I have no problem with people trying to earn the Darwin award - especially when they succeed. Good riddance to anyone that stupid. I guess I'm cranky too. Hard not to be these days.

    Re: safe eating stripers?

So many lakes do. I suggest looking it up. There is a list of lakes that are affected and it is a long list.

I've heard that cooking the fillet is the best way to do it. Frying it with the guts...

Yes you are, you're a real spammer. You have like twenty threads all started in one day, all linking to either your Youtube channel or sites selling stuff, most nowhere near California where this...

Re: Delta Levee And Private Property

Me too! Either rain or cold, or dirty flooded water flowing by at mach 3 haha. I need to fish soon or I'm gonna start "casting target practice" on the neighborhood cats. Don't blame me, it was the...

Re: Delta Levee And Private Property

I figured there'd be no definite answer. That bank isn't too important to me. I don't like people assuming rights that they do not have either, including myself.

    Nobody has probably ever been...

    Delta Levee And Private Property

I am asking about the law here.

I fish the bank of the San Joaquin River in Lathrop, near the Mossdale area.

I met a guy who owns a home in the River Island housing development. It's on the...

    Re: Clifton Court Forebay 3/1

I think "relatively clean' is a good description. Was pretty clear at shore. Spotless compared to the San Joaquin!

Incidentally, the SJ river is still getting higher. This is my first winter...

    Clifton Court Forebay 3/1

Went there with a friend for the first time last night. The fish started biting after everybody else left. I love that!

Gates close at 6:00 so we moved the trucks outside and stayed til 9:00....

    Re: Stained and murky waters....

I give up on the San Joaquin until it settles down. Too fast, too high (snags from bank), too dirty. Just got back. Stay off the main rivers maybe. Had good luck last night somewhere else.

I've never been checked, but only been fishing one year. Please check me, and also please check the guys littering beer bottles over there - something tells me they don't have their license.

Re: I Want To Try Jigs - Tackle Suggestions?

    Thanks for the detailed reply.

I just spooled the Prez with 14 pound mono. I wanted to do 20# braid and I wish I had, but this is fine for now. I've never used braid and I'm eager to try.

I Want To Try Jigs - Tackle Suggestions?

Like the title says, I've never fished a jig. Heck I've only been fishing about a year. I primarily fish for stripers in the Delta and black bass in local lakes. For now

    What exactly...

  25. Re: State Water Board Approves Increased Flows for Lower San Joaquin River

How is the flow increased in say the Stanislaus? Is it accomplished by diverting less water from the river, or by draining more water from the lakes? Maybe both? I'm hoping it's more of the former.
