    Re: Get kids fishing!

There are many spots around the delta that are great bluegill fishing this time of year. A red worm under a bobber will get you some good action. Itís not something I do often so I canít really name...

    Yeah, much better idea.
  5. Re: Suggestions on bank fishing for Salmon Sacramento River?

Might want to give Freeport a try, a couple hundred yards below the bridge. Kind of trashy down there though and it can get crowded, especially when the salmon are moving through there.

I was at San Pablo Dam and saw a bald eagle take a hen mallard off the water. It flew right over us carrying it, about 100í up.

I know how you feel Waterdog. I bought my first boat in 1978 and sold my last one in 2016. Been doing a lot of bank fishing lately. I donít catch as many fish, but man, it sure is relaxing.

    Re: Smoking Salmon

Iíve heard that the target temperature, for trout or salmon, to make it safe to eat, is 145. I use a Bradley smoker with a PID controller so I can be pretty accurate with the temperature. I smoke at...

It certainly seems like you had the right combo. Nice job! Great to see you get back out there again. Nice bonus being able to drive the truck right to the shore. No places left like that around here.

  19. Re: East Bay Regional Parks Lakes: Planted trout in the warmer months?

Welcome to the boards! The EBRPD lakes are never productive for trout fishing unless there are regular plants. Once the weather warms up and the trout planting stops, youíre better off heading inland...
