    Re: Helping out a grandson.

Hard to catch, convict, and punish when the majority of the B*$7#^d$ are in a 3rd World Country and the majority of the Officials are on the take or don't have the technology to track them down!

    Re: Helping out a grandson.

The main thing is never say yes or press any number if given the option or asked to do it!

Better yet don't answer it if you don't know the number or don't say anything like you said.

    Re: Helping out a grandson.

Since that scam has been around for a long time it must still bring in enough for them to continue using it.

It's amazing what lonely and elderly people will unfortunately fall for.

    If the...

Re: This has been a crappy fishing season

Those are sure some nice Crappie.

I've heard that many people don't like the taste of them from your "Secret Lake".

Obviously you and the others don't feel that way.

    Care to share how you...

Re: Failed my first smoking sesh

We prefer Hickory for the majority of what we do.

50/50 Apple and Cherry mix or Alder is good for fish.

I'll occasionally make a spread out of smoked salmon, mayo, mustard, sweet or dill...

Re: Failed my first smoking sesh

Here's a Dry Rub we like.

    3 c Brown Sugar
    1/2 - 3/4 c Kosher Salt (to taste)
    1 TBSP Black Pepper

    Rinse and pat dry fish.
Layer fish and rub in plastic or glass pan, cover and refrigerate...

Re: Failed my first smoking sesh

Looking at the recipe link it has 3 salt ingredients and only 2 c Brown Sugar.

I'd try 3 c Brown Sugar and cut back on the amount of Kosher Salt.

Even the Onion Powder probably has sodium in...

    Re: Trolling question

The stacker clips like you have will work fine on cable.

They will also work just above the downrigger weight if it doesn't have an attachment point for the line release ie; stick/broom weights...

    Re: Cannon Downrigger Question

If you can post a few pictures of what you have maybe that would help.

Didn't the downriggers come with rod holders?

    +1 DITTO
I do the same thing and carry them in a small soft tackle bag.
Pretty easy to replace a ziplock bag.

I have one 14" 9" Berkeley Soft Bait Binder that works great but it would take...

    Re: Downrigger: Cable or Braid

I read somewhere that Scotty downriggers are designed to put out .600 volts which my two do.

    My Big Jon's put out .650 - .700.

This is right in the range that supposedly attracts most fish...

    Good luck with the sale.

I've seen the boat and talked with the owner several times at the Suisun Marina.
