    Re: Klamath Estuary trailer

I'm back up here. They got a couple anchored up just south of the ramp in the Glen. Heard they got a few up river a couple of days ago. Guides Kenton Bansemer and Whaley are out today, Mario's boat is here so he'll be going in the next day or so.

It took a little doing but I was able to find this from an article date 4-11-17. I hope this isn't the final outcome. A 1000+ salmon that won't make the gravel could be devastating for the run that is expected to be at a historic low this year.

The Yurok and Hoopa Valley tribes on the Klamath and Trinity rivers are expected to receive their lowest salmon harvest allocation on record of less than 1,000 fish. The tribes state this low number will not only affect their economies, but also their ability to feed their families and perform their cultural ceremonies.

“This is devastating to all of us who live and love the North Coast and the coastal areas of Oregon and California,” Yurok Tribe General Counsel Amy Cordalis said. “We have a responsibility to take care of our salmon, especially over the past 30 years, and to protect our salmon. Right now more than ever we need allies and people who are committed to restoring and preserving salmon.

The Karuk Tribe announced Monday that it will be limiting salmon harvest for ceremonial and sustenance purposes this year for the first time in the tribe’s history.
