Never fished there, but did "visit" it a couple of times during basic training at Fort Ord in early '71. Had my M-16 in hand and ended up with an "all expenses paid" tour of Vietnam :) . Was a long hike from the barracks to the beach and back... (usually followed by PT).

Never been there, but the camo sand worm setup has been a go to for surf perch in many locations up and down the California coast. Good luck!

Definitely bring your top water!!! I was there a few weeks ago. My dad and I saw stripers busting bait on several occasions. We kicked ourselves in the butt all day long for not bringing a top water. But on the other hand the surf perch bite is on right now!! 4 inch GULP camo worms (surf perch crack) was the ticket on a #4 worm hook, three feet of 10 pound leader, glass bead, 3/4 to1 ounce egg sinker. Easy set up that catches fish!!

    Any other suggestions?
Carolina rig gulp camo sandworms for perch or smelt

Wouldn't bother with the top water, it's cold and the bass are in the central bay/delta
