Any update? I think getting a smaller steering is a nice idea.

Seat slider? HMMMM Will check on it. Thanks

I think that the only way may be to make some sort of extension for the steering column?

Tilt wheel. Had one on my Fisher and my sister has one on her Sanger. It’s the only way I can get my long legs into the cockpit to pull the nieces and nephews on their water toys.

Maybe you can lower your seat instead.
Going to a 13" steering wheel could make it harder to steer.
    Just a thought.

Re: Has anyone modified their steering wheel?

I had the opposite problem! My wheel was angled up and only had 1/2inch clearance between it and the depth finder on the dash. I replaced the factory unit with a Seastar tilt Solutions- Sport tilt model. Fairly simple install that corrected the problem. About $175 (ordered through ThunderJet Boats service dept ). Hope this helps, Greg

The easiest would be to go to a smaller wheel if you don't have a bigger outboard, 13" is about the smallest, 15" being the most common. Tilt helms would be the best solution. I have one in my ski boat and love it. Makes getting out of the bucket seat a little easier,,,gregg
