Good fight when you include the surf action. These salt stripers have more fight in them than delta fish. Turns out to be a nice thick 25 incher.

Great morning with one son. We both hooks fish.
Mine went back fight another day, the 19’’went home for dinner.
Those salt water stripers do indeed taste great. Freind's late mom used to deep fry them with batter. Made great fish n chips etc.

I also used to cook them fillet style in foil with lemon and onions, some of the best tasting fish imo.

Don’t let the traffic keep you away. You don’t need to come through the Bay Area. Take the southern route, 152 over Pacheco Pass to 156 towards the Monterey peninsula. There are several places to stay in Marina. Marina State Beach on Reservation rd is a popular place to fish. Fishing at the beach is not a bad way to spend the day.

    Stripers from the the beach

Morning run to Reservation Rd. Monday, 5/28/18.
One fish, it was legal, 19.250 inches. Came home for dinner. Salt water fish tastes pretty good.

Did see several other fish in the sand. Another 18’, 25’ and 28’.
Report from locals was fish is on one day, off the next.
Sand crabs are the bait of the day. Artificial baits don’t seam to be producing bites.
