    Re: Yotes

Probably a case of habituation to human contact re-enforced by food. The bolder the yote gets, the more food is forthcoming and bolder it gets....

In 2004 my daughter and I took our horses on a 115 mile pack trip though the Yellowstone back country that began on Pacific Creek and ended in Lamar Valley. We were continually in the presence of Wolves. I worried the wolves might attack our stock and run them off at night, or worse. Wolves were only recently reintroduced to YNP back then and I later found out park officials were worried about such encounters too. When these wild predators learn the have nothing too fear from humans then we have something to fear. Those huge foot prints and those haunting howls were unsettling come night fall to say the least.

The guy in the video is an idiot. By putting himself in that situation and allowing that coyote to do what he’s doing he is teaching the coyote not to fear man. Because of him someone else may get attacked and pay the ultimate price because of that dumb a$$.
Myself in close quarters like that I’d prefer my short barreled Mossberg 12 gauge with 000 buck. I think that would bring things to a quick and favorable conclusion. It would probably mess up the hide but what the .....

Unfortunately that would only be a snack for the pack, you would end up with the un-edible parts left in the general area with some blood stains on it...….Jetspray

    Re: Yotes

That was the winter I shot 13 coyotes.

    Two of which were collared.

I called the number on the collars to return them and the guy said there was no cash reward for returning them but he could send me a copy of the thesis that they were used in.

    Very detailed info

Yep, my thoughts exactly. He'd make a nice pair of slippers. That guy was way to comfortable and if he keeps it up he's liable to end up like the guy who lived with the Grizzlies. I think they identified that guy by his wrist watch, still on his arm, that they found in the Grizzlies stomach.
