Re: New Lowrance Elite 9 Ti2 Installed with Two Transducers...Why?

Yep, it appears to have 3 in 1 as well as a an HST-WSBL transducers.
Should have an A/B switch to read each but not both at the same time, otherwise the echo may interfere with each other.
I'd ask again if they charged extra for the HST-WSBL because IMO it shouldn't be needed.

Re: New Lowrance Elite 9 Ti2 Installed with Two Transducers...Why?

Check the attached link. Evidently many have problems reading bottom when on plane with the 3 in 1 transducer so the second transducer (which reads better on plane) is installed via a "y" connector to compensate and allow for reading bottom at higher speeds. (I hope adding the link is not against board policy, but if it is removed, pm me for the link)

Send a message to ReelJerks or maybe he will see the question and can help. He used to be a Lowrance “expert” and perhaps he knows and can explain it

Looks like that FF comes with one or zero transducers.. Maybe an up sale add on?

New Lowrance Elite 9 Ti2 Installed with Two Transducers...Why?

Recently bought subject FF over the phone from a boat dealership that also installed the unit, allegedly straight out of the box. When I picked up the boat and saw two transducers mounted on the transom I was confused. I had researched this unit several times before deciding to buy and none of the advertisements said anything about two transducers, just one...an “Active Imaging 3-IN-1” transducer. Long story short, I spent considerable time on the phone today with the dealership and Lowrance Customer Service and never got a satisfactory answer. The Lowrance rep said some boats, depending on speed on plane, intended activity, etc. required a second transducer. When I asked him for a written source so that I can determine/verify if my boat requires two transducers he couldn’t provide it. Dealership initially said second transducer was for determining water temperature, etc. Huh? If anyone can help me with this, please chime in. If someone in the future asks me why I have two transducers, i’d like to be able to provide a credible answer. Not there yet. Thanks!
