Spammers on this site are getting ridiculous. Every day or so there seems to be a new spammer.

    Re: millennials

Joining the military worked for me.

I was going to college, taking a full load and had a full time job. It was very hard. I was always tired, hungry and broke. I thought there had to be another way. Then in my second semester, I saw some recruiting posters on campus advertising high-tech training, free housing, free food, with medical and dental. Duhhhh, hard decision.... :-)

After boot in San Diego and 2 years of tech training I did a WESTPAC and World Cruise on the USS Kitty Hawk and USS Carl Vinson, respectively. After 2 more years, I got my honorable discharge and left the military with great training, great experience and NO student loan. Joining the military is a mutual investment. You invest yourself into the country and the country invests in you.

Not only did the military give me a great technical foundation, it gave me a deep appreciation for the United States of America. I saw how so many people around the world had no where near the opportunities and quality of life that we have here. America is great!

An old friend once told me, "If the dog keeps crapping in the house, make it an outside dog. Eventually it will realize you don't crap where you sleep and eat." It took me a few years to understand what he really meant. Appreciation of what we have comes from being "outside". I can think of a few "dogs" that need to go out for a while, or longer.

    Done rambling....
    Tight lines all!!!!!

I totally agree with you, but I know it works, because it did for me and at
least 5 of my closest friends. but I was the only one to make it a career.
it got me out of Muskogee, and I got to see a lot of different places in the
military, and even after I retired in 81 and I worked overseas from 4-1-81 to 9-5-2k
