    I hate to say it but Steelhead season on the American is over, until they drop the flows below 8000cfs. Probably will not happen until April. At that time you could catch Stripers or Steel.
    It was fun while it lasted. Only landed 2 for the season on 8 trips and lost a half dozen......
    Getting ready for Bass in a month.....

    I'm going to tie some new jig patterns and squirmys. If the weather breaks I might take the kayak out to a small local lake nearby I suspect has some huge holdover rainbows.

    ​going up over 20k today. At that rate therover is not fishable. At least if you want to catch something.

    Thank you both, I had suspected it would be a no-go. I have no way to walk up to physically look at conditions so I appreciate the feedback!

    I would wait a while like it was a month ago before you take the family for a long ride down here to just turn around. Give it time to go back down, way down, it can be dangerous. Being above 10,000+cfs is pretty crazy and too high. You can see how high it is driving over the bridges around town. Just reschedule because if it gets higher it's basically unfishable.
