    Delta Stripers 5/2

I have a live well for minnow built in my boat but I transport in a 5 gallon bucket with an aerator. Just change out the water and keep them cool. I usually buy 2 dozen or more for 3 people and 4 rods.Sometimes you waste them sometimes you don’t. Buying more means you have more big ones in the mix. A couple of them may die. Super jumbos make me happy and work better. Depends on how good the fishing is. Bait buttons keeps them from falling off. Best invention ever.

If you plan a day of fishing how many jumbos do you get and what do you use to keep them alive? I figure I can use an ice chest with a airator to help keep them alive.

Freeport. There’s three bait shops next to each other.

Minnows. Some were jigging or trolling. It doesnt work as well in these here parts. Get yourself some jumbos.

I never free spool. When using live minnows, the bait takes evasive action and the striper goes into Predator mode and there are very few short strikes. The fish usually hooks itself. I put the rods in the rod holders set the drag medium light and wait to hear the clicker screaming. Then I grab the rod and set the hook.
