Thumbs up Re: 5/4/2019 Lake Tahoe Fishing Report- Excellent Mackinaw Fishing!

Err869 , The fishing is off the hook right now . I have been getting limits every day for everyone the last 2 months . Simply put , It is the best I have seen in 20 years of Guiding . Today , was no exemption as we netted limits today ( 5/23/2019 ) with hits "every time " we lowered the down-riggers down into the depths with our custom made Dodgers with Minnows . White is the preferred color right now . The Mackinaw are Heavily loaded right now and fating up for the up coming spawn . All fish are stuffed with shrimp, crawdads, and the small Kokonee Salmon . The snow has no effect on dampening the awesome bite right now . If anything it is getting better each day . Cheers! Captain Gene St. Denis

Looks like a Tahoe trip is in order next week. Has all the snow dampened the bite?

Cool 5/4/2019 Lake Tahoe Fishing Report- Excellent Mackinaw Fishing!

5/4/2019 Lake Tahoe Fishing Report- Excellent Mackinaw Fishing! We have been getting limits of Mackinaw Lake Trout all week , from 1 to 15 pounds - depending on the day and anglers ability . Depths have ranged from 60 , 100, 150, 200, and 250 feet depending on the areas fished on the lake . Cal Neva Point , Tahoe City Shelf, Sugar Pine Point , Ski Run Mound , Tahoe Keys Shelf , and Camp Richardson Shelf are all Stacked /loaded with Lake Trout . Surface Water temperatures range from 44 to 48 depending on areas as well . Cold waters mean slower trolling and warmer temperatures mean faster trolls. If you can't get a hookup, change you speed. Bounce the bottom periodically as well . Large fat minnows trailed behind dodgers or flashers is highly effective . Change speeds every now and then to initiate a strike to following fish . We have been getting several browns and rainbows ( from 2 to 5 pounds ) on occasion with the mackinaw in 60 to 150 feet as well . The fish are feeding hard and have bright orange and red fillets , providing for tastie meals on the Barbie ! Cave Rock boat Launch is now open 6 am to 8 pm . Hip, Hip , Hurray !! For information on boat inspections and launching ... here is the link .... https://tahoeboatinspections.com/ ... Locations and launch hours.....

Air temperatures are forecast-ed from lows of 30 degrees to highs of 55 to 66 degrees the next ten days . With the Sacramento valley heating up into the 80's to 90' afternoon cloud build up will lead to Thunder storms at times as well . The lake is full and the launch's are in great shape . At any rate be safe out there people and everyone have a great spring of fishing ! Cheers ! Captain Gene St. Denis Blue Ribbon Fishing Charters (530) 544-6552 http://www.blueribbonfishing.com/
