    Updated report......went for a bike ride in the rain from the hatchery to rossmoor today. Saw a couple boats and bank fisherman up towards sailor bar.

    THEY WERE CATCHING SHAD!

    Time to get out there.

    But the flows are ripping, be careful.

    I have fished cal expo the last 2 saturdays, and have yet to find evidence of those slimy shiny silver things

    I think the cold water does slow the shad bite a little, but there should be tons of them because they follow the high flows.

    What ever the case is for shad, what will be great is we should have an awesome salmon season.

    I don't how the cold water will affect the shad run, but it will remain this way for many months. The snowpack is slowly melting and July will still have cold water.

    Went out on foot to the sunrise area twice this week just for a couple hours each time.......No sign of shad yet.

    Any day now.....flows are higher than I remember for this time vs last year!
