Fishing forums a thing of the past??

I know a lot of you are aware that FinAddicts is shutting down. Some of us are members of multiple fishing forums and even a moderator from this site participated on FinAddicts. I really hate to see any fishing forum close since a lot of that info will no longer be available.

I hope this forum (as well as a couple of other forums) keep going for years to come. I know most of us could participate a little more. Maybe a few more people from FinAddicts will post here occasionally.

I have been quite active on both Finaddics and Fish Sniffer. I have noticed that activity has gone down considerably on these kinds of forums. When posting a fishing adventure the processing of pictures and posting text can be time consuming and it is disheartening to have only a couple of views and comments. But that is the nature of things. I started with the Sniffer 12 years ago and will remain. I have been on FB for 7 years and have no problem with it not withstanding being in FB Jail a time or two. Not sure a FB forum can allow for the information allowed on a Forum. Oh Well. Fish on.

This comes to my mind when surfing the net

    Time...Pink Floyd

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

    Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
When I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
    Far away, across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spell

    Catch ya later ... hooks

That was written in 1972 Don, I saw it preformed in Munich in I think November. It rings true today....Jetspray

Mods are doing their best here Richard, not to worry, Facebook is just what it is a business, it can loose support if exposed, things are happening....Jetspray

They are just switching to Facebook, of which I am not a member and probably never will be. FinAddicts was mostly funded and ran within the group from what I know. Fish Sniffer will hang on, but many forms of operation do not today like BBS's or My space, things change and turn to other means of communication. You can turn your vehicle to the left or right while operation is underway, seems to me Facebook is stuck on left...….Jetspray
