    Flyrod size choice should be determined by the fly you're throwing*

    *unless you're in a unique situation with really big fish and are are a really good caster and the fish aren't scared of a noisy presentation

    good call...a 5 wt is perfect, as for the smaller bass, under 2 pounds, I prefer my 4 wt when is a boat, but a 5 from shore.

    Is a 5wt too light for bass? Where I fish, they average no more than 1lb.
