    Re: Cameron park lake

Went to the lake for the first time yesterday. Float tubed for a couple hours until it got to hot. Fished a bright green popper by the dam. Didnít bring any fish to the tube but did hook into 4 that made me think this bass fishing with a fly rod is going to be a lot of fun. They put a nice bend in my rod for the short amount of time I had them on. Next time I go I will go earlier in the morning didnít get there until around 9am. Only a couple other people fishing from the bank. Nice little lake and close to home thatís only 15 minutes away.

    Re: Cameron park lake

I have fished there quite often, thought not yet this year. I fish woolly buggers and size twelve wiggle tails on a type 3 sink tip.

Fish along the bank or if weedy, fish the weed edges.

Iíve done best along the side where the homes with airplane garages are located. Also have done well on the directly opposite bank. Iíve never been too lucky along the dam.

There are some very big bass in there. And some decent sized crappie.

    Good luck.

I have fished there years ago. Best to fish with shadows and around the vegetation were the fish are hiding.
